The Pinewood derby is right around the corner!! We wanted to share key details about dates, rules and volunteering
Due to the pandemic situation – there will certainly be additional considerations regarding race day.
Dates and Rules
Race Day: Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 (Virtual)
Once the weigh-in dates are announced, we highly recommend you try to get to the first weigh-in if possible in case your car requires modifications to meet the rules. However you do not need to attend both. Once your Scout’s car has been cleared, we will impound it for the race.

Categories
- There are lots of opportunities the Scouts can aim for: fastest; best colors; most unique; best design; funniest.
- Remember that while this is a fun activity to do together, it’s important that the Scouts do the work — not the parents.
Sibling race
This year there will be a chance for siblings to race cars. Additional kits for this can be purchased at John Millen Hardware.
Volunteering
Due to the pandemic – we are still determining volunteering efforts. If you are interested in volunteering – please contact Byron Dill.

If you did not yet get a Pinewood Derby car, you can contact your Den leader or our Cubmaster.
